It's been a long time coming, but Lavender Fields is finally here! I took a little bit of a break last year while writing it when I found out that my best friend was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer for the second time in two years. My story was written, but with the stories lead dealing with her own battle with Cancer I felt conflicted. My wonderful friend encouraged me to finish the book, so with her blessing I got back to work. Soon after, I was hit with another blow. My father went into the hospital with what they thought were complications from his Autoimmune Disease, only to find out he had advanced staged Cancer. It was so advanced they informed us there was nothing to do to save his life. He went into hospice care a week later, a week and a half after that we said goodbye to my father. He went home to live with the Angels. I was devastated. Once again Lavender Fields was pushed aside while I tried to figure out my life. I was so afraid to finish this story. Cancer was invading every inch of my life, and my story was the beginning. I cried, and fought with the decision whether or not to finish and publish this book. There would always be more, but after much worry and stress about what to do, I felt my father pushing me to go forward to finish. I wrote my Dedication to my wonderfully, strong, best friend Dalena, but my father is the reason it's here today for everyone to read. I hope that your enjoy Lavender Fields, I will tell you though, make sure you have a box of tissues handy, you'll need them.
